Fatal Traffic Crash Prompts Police Response on Bribie Island

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a fatal traffic crash at Bellara, on Bribie Island this morning, 25 February.

Initial investigations indicate around 9.15am, a Kymco motorbike and a Kia Sorento collided on Sunderland Drive.

The rider of the motorbike, a 65-year-old Bongaree woman, was initially treated at the scene but declared deceased a short time later.

The driver of the Kia, an 84-year-old Banksia Beach man, did not sustain any physical injuries and is assisting police with enquiries.

Anyone who may have been travelling in the area around the time of the crash and may have relevant vision or information is urged to contact police.
