Approximately 6pm on Monday the 6th of September 2021 a grey Audi A4 sedan has left the Bass Highway, Boat Harbour and collided with a tree on the side of the road. A 66 year old male from the Ulverstone area has died at the scene as a result of the injuries he sustained during the crash.
Police, Ambulance and Fire officers attended the scene and the highway was closed for a period of time while the scene was cleared. Early investigations suggest that speed was a contributing factor to this crash.
If anyone observed this vehicle travelling on the Bass Highway they are asked to provide any information, or dash camera footage, to police on 131444, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
