The life-saving work of our kidney transplant team is to feature on BBC Look North tonight.
Phil donated his kidney to wife Fiona and their transplant journey here at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was captured by BBC Look North as part of Organ Donation Week.
The surgeon, Badri Shrestha, told the BBC the transplant should make a big difference to the quality of their lives.
"If the wife has kidney failure, the dialysis directly impacts the life of the husband and the whole family."
In 2025, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust carried out 60 kidney transplants, including 19 from a living donor.
