April 17, 2019 – Guelph, Ontario
Today, Lloyd Longfield, Member of Parliament for Guelph, announced a FedDev Ontario contribution of $2.1 million for Melitron Corporation, a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of electro-mechanical systems and outdoor digital display products to scale up operations at its facilities in Guelph. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario.
As part of Melitron Corporation’s larger plans for next-level growth, FedDev Ontario’s contribution will allow the company to further boost its technical capabilities and overall capacity through the acquisition of energy-efficient robotics and manufacturing automation technologies, as well as make facility improvements.
This project expects to create 22 full-time skilled jobs in Guelph and will enable Melitron Corporation to take on new and larger contracts, while meeting increasing demand from various sectors. For example, the company recently designed and manufactured a line of weatherproof digital display products, including outdoor digital menu boards, kiosks and digital signage, in collaboration with Samsung Canada.
