Federal funds support for local roads

City of Stonnington Mayor, Cr Kate Hely and Member for Higgins, Katie Allen, on Davis Avenue, South Yarra - one of a number of projects to be awarded funding under the Federal Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program

Stonnington residents will soon see better and safer local roads thanks to a $3.3 million Federal Government grant.

Under the Federal Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program the city was awarded funding for projects across the municipality, including road resurfacing, kerb, pavement and footpath reconstuctions, and drainage upgrades.

Delivery of the funded projects will start progressively from April and all be completed by 31 December 2021.

This is a great win for Council and the community with the funding bringing forward the delivery of important infrastructure projects.
