Feds give Adani green light

Australian Conservatives Release

Federal Environment Minister Melissa Price has approved the Adani groundwater management plan giving the green light for the Queensland Carmichael coal mine.

The news has been welcomed by Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi who says there is a "strange vibe" running through the state of Victoria which has seen an intensive anti-Adani campaign in recent weeks.

The project now requires further approvals from the Queensland Labor Government before construction can start.

The mining union, the CFMEU, allegedly wants the mine to proceed and yet it's given more than a million dollars to the left-wing activist group GetUp!

Senator Bernardi has told Paul Murray Live on Sky News the union seems a bit conflicted over the mine.
