Have you started thinking about Christmas yet? We have! The 2025 Nillumbik Festive Fund grant program is now accepting applications.

Grants of up to $2,000 are on offer to fund activities, projects and events that will be held in a public space for the community to enjoy.

Previous grants have been awarded for Christmas craft workshops; shop window Christmas decorations; community carols; Christmas markets and parties; festive light installations, and even to help Santa travel through the Shire on a CFA truck.

Mayor John Dumaresq said the grants help Nillumbik get into the Christmas spirit.

"Our Nillumbik Festive Fund provides opportunities for members of the community to come together at Christmas," Cr Dumaresq said.

"Whether you'd like to run a workshop, install an art display, put on a public celebration or have any other community centric idea in mind, you're welcome to apply for a grant," he said.

A list of activities that may be funded can be found on our website, along with eligibility and assessment criteria, and a list of previous recipients.

Applications close on Sunday 31 August and successful applicants will be notified in mid-September.
