We have been replacing traditional concrete pit lids with Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP) pit lids for sometime now.
Lightweight Fibre Reinforced Plastic lids offer substantial manual handling benefits to both construction and maintenance workers, reducing the potential of injury.
Following a review by our Standards Review Committee, we have decided to mandate the use of FRP lids across the municipality beginning 1 March 2021. This announcement provides contractors and suppliers the opportunity to modify manufacturing or supply practices prior to 1 March 2021.
Product colour selection
Product colour selection needs to be sympathetic to the surrounding streetscape. In most instances it is expected that either a green or grey finish will be appropriate.
