Fifth person charged over Waverley assault, TAS

Police this afternoon took a fifth person into custody as part of their ongoing investigation into the serious assault of a man in Waverley on 10TH  January, Tasmania Police say.

The 24- year-old Launceston man was taken into custody at a residence in Norwood this afternoon and has been charged with Attempted Murder and Aggravated Armed Robbery.  He will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at 11.30am on Wednesday the 16th January.

The 48-year-old victim remains in a serious condition in the Launceston General Hospital.
