Council works on the new roundabout at the intersection of Byron Bay Fair and Bayshore Drive have been completed with final landscaping works and replacement of footpaths finished this week.

The roundabout represents a significant upgrade to the intersection, delivering improved safety, functionality and amenity for the Byron Arts and Industry Estate.

Council's Director Infrastructure Services, Phil Holloway, said the project has provided substantial infrastructure improvements both above and below ground.

"The new roundabout has delivered a major upgrade at this intersection, including brand new water and sewer infrastructure, new lighting, kerbs and gutters, adjoining footpaths and attractive landscaping," Mr Holloway said.

"Despite the complexities encountered during construction, we've achieved a terrific outcome that will benefit local residents, businesses and visitors to the Byron Arts and Industry Estate for many years to come."

Mr Holloway thanked the local community for their patience throughout the works.

"I'd like to thank Sunrise and Byron Arts and Industry Estate residents and businesses for their understanding and cooperation while this important project was delivered," he said.

The new roundabout forms part of the staged development of a 5.8-hectare Council-owned site known as Lot 12 Bayshore Drive, which is currently home to Byron TAFE.
