The transformative Bobeyan Road upgrade project is entering its final phase, with crews working to deliver the remaining elements before summer's end.
Recent progress has seen the installation of guardrails nearing completion, enhancing safety along this vital regional route between Adaminaby and the ACT.
'We're in the home stretch of this significant infrastructure project,' said Tyron Bicknell, Council's senior project manager. 'The team is focused on completing these final elements to ensure the upgraded road meets the highest safety and quality standards.'
The project's remaining milestones include:
• Landscaping to be finished by the end of the year
• Final road sealing scheduled for January 2025
• Line-marking to be carried out following the final seal
These finishing touches will mark the completion of this comprehensive upgrade project, which has already delivered major improvements for local residents and motorists travelling between Canberra and the Snowy Monaro.
Some of the improvements already in place include new pavement, boundary fencing, and enhanced safety features along this important regional connector.
Motorists are reminded to continue exercising caution in the area while these final works are undertaken. While major construction is complete, traffic control will still be required in the coming months as crews work to finish things off.
Council appreciates the understanding of local residents and motorists over the course of this significant road upgrade project.
These improvements would not have been possible without the generous financial support of the NSW Government, through a $20 million funding commitment announced in 2019.
