Final Week for HERE/NOW Exhibition at Orange Gallery

Orange Council

Members of the community are encouraged not to miss Orange Regional Gallery's annual community exhibition HERE/NOW, which has just one week left until it closes.

One of the most popular exhibitions on the gallery's calendar, the show features pieces by 165 artists from the local government areas of Orange, Bathurst, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Forbes, Lachlan Shire, Lithgow, Oberon, Parkes and Weddin, from well-known to emerging artists, many of whom have never exhibited before.

More than 40 works from the exhibit ion have been sold, which is the most in the six-year history of the exhibition, with over 3000 people visiting the show since it opened on August 4.

Orange City Council's Services Policy Committee Chair, Cr Mel McDonell said the exhibition had received loads of positive feedback from locals and visitors to the region.

"The great thing about this exhibition is that it celebrates the wealth of creative talent we have right here in the Central West," Cr McDonell said.

"It offers local artists of all genres and all stages of their careers the opportunity to showcase their recent works and gain exposure and experience. And maybe even a sale."

HERE/NOW is on display in the Alan Sisley Gallery at Orange Regional Gallery and will close on 8 October 2023. It will be followed by an exhibition of works from the Gallery's permanent collection.

The Gallery will put a call-out for the 2024 HERE/NOW exhibition in May 2024.

Orange Regional Gallery is open daily from 10am to 4pm.
