Fire in hydro house in Strathfield

Police have uncovered a hydroponic cannabis setup following a house fire in Sydney's west this morning.

Just after 10am today (Friday 31 January 2019), emergency services were called to a home on Myrna Road, Strathfield, following reports of a fire.

Fire & Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze, but the house had sustained significant damage.

The home was unoccupied at the time and no injuries have been reported to police.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command have confirmed a hydroponic setup was found inside the property.

A crime scene has been established and police urge anyone with information to come forward.
