Firearm and ammunition seized in Sydney's south-west

Two men have been charged after police seized ammunition, a pistol and drugs from two properties in Sydney's south-west this morning.

About 6.05am (Tuesday 7 January 2020), detectives from Bankstown Police Area Command executed a search warrant at a home on Dutton Street in Bankstown and another on Hunter Street in Condell Park.

They seized firearm magazines, ammunition, cocaine, cannabis, prescribed restricted substances, cash and a pistol.

A 23-year-old man was charged with several offences, including possess prohibited weapon, possess ammunition and possess prohibited drug.

A 20-year-old was also charged with several offences including possess unauthorised pistol, possess prohibited weapon and goods on premises suspected unlawfully obtained (cash).

The men have been refused bail and are due to appear at Bankstown Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 8 January 2020).
