Firearm stolen during RSL break-in

Police are investigating a break-in at the Enfield RSL that occurred in the early hours of this morning.

Just after 1.30am on Saturday 22 February, Western District patrols attended Fitzgerald Avenue after a security patrol confirmed there was a break-in at the premises.

On arrival police located a smashed window pane in the door to the main bar where it is believed the suspect gained entry and stole a 1948 Owen F1 decommissioned firearm (a similar firearm is pictured below) off the wall where it was hanging for decorative purposes. The firearm has been deactivated and rendered unusable.
