Firearms and suspicious device located, Burbank

Detectives from Logan Criminal Investigation Branch have arrested a 37-year-old Burbank man following the discovery of a suspicious device and firearms during a search warrant of a Burbank home yesterday (October 6).

Police attended a Ford Road address and located a small improvised device shortly after 2.30pm.

The device was safely detonated in a controlled explosion around 4pm.

Police will allege the man also constructed a small improvised device that was located at a New Beith address and resulted in a PSPA declaration being declared on September 9.

There is no ongoing threat to the community.

The 37-year-old man has been charged with 21 offences, including unlawful dealing with explosive or noxious substances, unlawful possession of weapons and manufacture explosive without authority.

He will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 7 October 2022.
