Firearms, weapons and stolen motorcycles seized; man charged at Lithgow

A man has been charged with multiple weapons and property offences following a search warrant in Lithgow yesterday.

About 12.45pm (Tuesday 6 August 2019), officers attached to Chifley Police District's Region Enforcement Squad, with assistance from Chifley's Target Action Group and Criminal Group's Strike Force Raptor, executed a search warrant at a house on Beynon Street, Lithgow.

During the search, police allegedly located and seized three motorcycles, four trail bikes and three mountain bikes – all believed to be stolen – a home-made electronic stun device, ammunition, a loaded 9mm pistol magazine, a shortened rifle, extendable baton, knuckledusters, zombie knife, slingshots and multiple knives and machetes.

A 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Lithgow Police Station where he was charged with possess prohibited weapon (x5), possess ammunition without holding license/permit, acquire prohibited firearm part no authority, possess unauthorised firearm, possess shortened firearm and goods suspected stolen in/on premises (x2).

He was refused bail to appear before Lithgow Local Court today (Wednesday 7 August 2019).
