Firefighter Championships preparations underway

The Torchlight Procession, traditionally an urban event, will be open to rural teams in 2020.

For the first time, Urban and Rural Championships will combine in 2020, and a few changes have been made to make the event a collaborative success.

  • Torchlight Procession - the Torchlight Procession, traditionally an urban event, will now be open to rural senior/junior brigades. The procession will take place on the Saturday evening around the prominent Shepparton Lake. All competing brigades are encouraged to take part in this spectacle, which is proudly supported by Greater Shepparton City Council. Rural brigades will be asked to indicate their intentions to participate at the time of submitting their registration forms.
  • Facility - The CFA VFBV State Firefighting Championships will be held at the Mooroopna Recreation Reserve which has undergone a number of improvements to ensure it will sufficiently host the event. Both the Urban and Rural committees have endorsed the track for use.
