First Look At New Tech Schools Across Education State

VIC Premier

The Allan Labor Government is making sure every Victorian student has access to a world-class learning environment close to home - with more tech schools to be opened across the state.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll has today revealed the architectural renders of the buildings, showing students what to expect when they are completed in 2026.

Brimbank Tech School will be located at Victoria University's Sunshine campus and Dandenong Tech School at Chisholm Institute's Dandenong campus and will provide unique learning environments that inspire students to pursue STEM study and career pathways.

Students will receive free bus transportation from their schools, to participate in immersive high-tech programs at their local Tech School. Unlike the tech schools of the past, these new training opportunities will be offered alongside regular schooling, so students don't have to choose between the two.

The education centres reflect industry environments and students will be empowered to offer their own solutions to real-world problems.

Brimbank Tech School will provide 14,000 students from 14 local secondary schools with immersive, hands-on STEM learning experiences to develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the jobs of tomorrow. Up to 120 local students will be able to access Brimbank Tech School's programs each day.

Dandenong Tech School will provide 13,500 students from 23 local secondary schools with inspiring, innovative, and hands-on STEM learning experiences.

Brimbank and Dandenong Tech Schools are two of six new Tech Schools being rolled out across the state, with the first of these - Frankston Tech School - on track to welcome students next term.

The Tech Schools in Brimbank and Dandenong will be completed in the second half of 2026, along with Tech Schools in Hume, Wangaratta and Warrnambool.

As stated by Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ben Carroll

"We are backing students to learn beyond the classroom, keeping them engaged and building the vital STEM skills they need for the jobs of tomorrow."

"Victoria's Tech Schools provide unique learning environments that inspire students to pursue STEM study and career pathways, and the education centres we're delivering in Brimbank and Dandenong will be no exception."
