The First Nations Digital Inclusion Advisory Group will welcome 4 new members, as they continue their work to support the digital inclusion of First Nations people in Australia.
The new members of the Advisory Group are:
- Dr Jessa Rogers, Wiradjuri researcher, educator, board director and Associate Professor of Indigenous Education at the University of Melbourne
- Mr Che Cockatoo-Collins, who has family connections to the Ku Ku Yalanji, Yupangathi, Gangalidda and Gunggari peoples. He is a former AFL player and currently the Executive Manager of Indigenous Affairs at NBN Co
- Ms Naomi Moran, a Nyangbal and Arakwal woman from the Bundjalung nation. She is a former co-chair of First Nations Media Australia, former CEO of Koori Mail, and currently one of 3 NSW Treaty Commissioners
- Mr Terry Jamieson, a Wiradjuri man from NSW and current manager of Closing the Gap and Policy at the NSW Department of Customer Service.
The new members join advisory group co-chairs Ms Dot West OAM and Professor Lyndon Ormond-Parker, and current member Mr Adam Manovic.
Since their establishment in January 2023, the group has strongly advocated for targeted action by government and industry to close the digital divide, particularly for First Nations Australians living in remote communities.
