Fitzroy Crossing fatal crash charge

Detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Unit have charged an 18-year-old man in relation to a fatal crash in Fitzroy Crossing on 26 July 2020.

It is alleged about 2.46am, the man was the driver of a Toyota Landcruiser which was being driven on a track adjacent to Lamey Avenue in Fitzroy Crossing near Great Northern Highway when the vehicle rolled over into bushland.

An 18-year-old male passenger of the Toyota Landcruiser died at the scene and another passenger, a 20-year-old man, received serious injuries.

The 18-year-old man from Fitzroy Crossing has been charged with:-

• Used an Unlicensed Vehicle on a Road;

• No Authority to Drive; and

• Dangerous Driving Causing Death in Circumstances of Aggravation.

He is due to appear before the Fitzroy Crossing Magistrates Court on 11 August 2020.
