Five arrested after simultaneous search warrants, NSW

Five people have been arrested after search warrants were executed on home units across Surry Hills earlier today.

Officers attached to Surry Hills Police Area Command executed multiple simultaneous search warrants on homes in Belvoir, Devonshire, and Clisdell streets, about 9am today (Tuesday 5 February 2019).

Police seized heroin, cash, replica pistols, a samurai sword, an electronic stun device, and ID card-making equipment.

Four men and one woman were arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

• A 42-year-old man and a 34-year-old Victorian woman have each been charged with arrest warrants; they were bail refused and appeared in Central Local Court today.

• A 40-year-old man has been charged with three counts of having goods in custody suspected of being stolen. Has been granted conditional bail to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 21 February 2019.

• A 32-year-old Surry Hills man has been charged with supply a prohibited drug (heroin), possess a prohibited drug (three counts), deal with the proceeds of crime. His bail is being processed now.

• A 41-year-old man is being interviewed over the possession of prohibited weapons (two replica firearms and a homemade electronic stun device), possession of card-making machine, and possession of counterfeit cards.

Inquiries are continuing.
