Five Students Injured When Bus Hits Tree - Erskine Park

Five students have been taken to hospital after their school bus crashed in Sydney's' west this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Erskine Park Road, Erskine Park, shortly before 1pm today (Thursday 21 May 2026), following reports a school bus had left the road and hit a tree.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command, along with Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Ambulance, worked to extricate the driver, a teacher and 41 students, who are in years 11 and 12.

The driver was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital for further treatment and mandatory testing.

Five students – aged between 16 and 18 – have been taken to various hospitals for further treatment, one with suspected fractures. .

The remaining students and teacher were shaken but not physically injured. They have all been taken home or back to school.

The northbound lane of Erskine Park Road is closed.
