Five times limit in Werribee

A driver involved in a minor hit-run collision allegedly blew more than five times the legal alcohol limit in Werribee yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services received a Triple Zero (000) call following a collision on Market Street about 4pm.

The 37-year-old driver allegedly drove off, with the second driver following him to his home address nearby and notified police.

Police attended the man's addressed and he was taken to a police station to be breath-tested - shocking officers when he returned a reading of .265.

His licence was immediately suspended for 12 months and he is expected to be charged on summons for drink driving and other traffic-related matters.

The man's vehicle will also be impounded for 30 days.
