Flood Emergency Warning - Daly River

The major flood peak along the Daly River has passed through Theyona station and is now likely around Beeboom Crossing.

Further rainfall is possible over the next few days, which may exacerbate river levels. The situation is being closely monitored and the warning will be updated as required.

A Moderate Flood Warning is current for the Katherine River, and a Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End.

Lower Daly River:

Major flooding is occurring along the Daly River.

No current observations are available along the Daly River Police Station. The river was at 14.97 m and rising slowly around 8:45 pm Monday, with major flooding. This is already above the February 2026 flood levels of 14.26 metres. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is expected to exceed 15.50 m Wednesday afternoon, with major flooding, higher than the 1957 flood levels of 15.19 metres. Further rises are possible as upstream flows arrive.
