ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC:

MODERATE FLOODING OCCURRING AT BESWICK BRIDGE

River levels along the Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge fell below the major flood level Saturday afternoon. River levels are likely to remain above the moderate flood level during the remainder of Saturday into Sunday and may fall below the moderate flood level Sunday afternoon. Small renewed rises are possible with forecast rainfall.

River levels are elevated throughout the Roper River catchment.

This situation will be closely monitored and warnings will be updated as required.

A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Bonaparte, North West Coastal and Carpentaria Coastal River catchments.

Waterhouse River:

Moderate flooding is occurring along the Waterhouse River.

The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is currently at 8.65 m and falling, below the major flood level (8.70 m). The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (8.10 m) during the remainder of Saturday and into Sunday. The river may fall below the moderate flood level (8.10 m) Sunday afternoon.

Roper River below Elsey Creek:

River levels are elevated throughout the Roper River catchment.
