ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC:

MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE AT BESWICK BRIDGE FROM EARLY THURSDAY MORNING Recent moderate rainfall across the Roper and Waterhouse catchments has resulted in river level rises along the Waterhouse River. Further moderate rainfall is forecast over the next few days which may lead to further river level rises and moderate flooding at Beswick Bridge from early Thursday morning. Continued rainfall associated with the monsoon trough is forecast over the next few days which may cause further river level rises. This situation will be closely monitored, and this warning will be updated as required. A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Bonaparte, North West Coastal and Carpentaria Coastal River catchments.

Waterhouse River: Moderate flooding is possible along the Waterhouse River. The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge is currently at 6.21 m and rising, below the minor flood level. The Waterhouse River at Beswick Bridge may exceed the minor flood level (7.70 m) overnight Wednesday into Thursday. The river may reach around the moderate flood level (8.10 m) from early Thursday morning. Further rises are possible with forecast rain.
