Hundreds of vulnerable people living in the City of Swan will be given food and essential items thanks to a new community partnership.

Working with Midland-based community organisation Midlas and Foodbank WA, the City is providing supplies and support to residents struggling through the COVID-19 global pandemic.

The community-based initiative sees food and supplies, including nappies, baby formula, toiletries and sanitary items provided to more than 300 residents in need.

Each package will be personally delivered to residents in need, arming them with five days' worth of food.

City of Swan Mayor Kevin Bailey said the City was proud to be part of the biggest emergency food and essentials supply delivery ever conducted in Swan.

"It is critical that we, as a community, do everything we can to support those in need during this incredibly difficult and unprecedented time," Cr Bailey said.

"This initiative exemplifies the very best of our resilient and supportive community and shows what can be achieved when we all come together to help each other.

"We encourage all residents to stay connected with the City of Swan by following our website and social media channels for updates on how we are responding as a community to this rapidly changing situation."
