Sunshine Coast locals and visitors can continue to enjoy the iconic Mooloolaba Beach as the area undergoes its stunning transformation.
Works have begun on Stage Two of the world-class destination, Mooloolaba Foreshore Revitalisation Project.
This will include a stunning ocean viewing deck, relaxing beachfront spaces, public art, modern amenities and improved pathways - all designed to enhance accessibility and celebrate the natural beauty of the coast.
In the short term, there will be some slight changes to where people can take a dip to ensure their safety and enjoyment.
Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Club President and Lifeguard Supervisor Trent Robinson said that all 1.3kms of beach from the surf club to The Spit would remain open for walking, running, swimming or relaxing.
"Winter offers prime beach conditions at Mooloolaba Beach and from this week you can find our lifeguards on patrol in a slightly new position, opposite Arthur Parkyn Park, accessible via Beach Access 180," Mr Robinson.
"Our second patrolled area is also operating as usual towards The Spit at Beach Access 190.
"It's really important for swimmers to stay between the flags and not in front of the construction zone. The changing tides and current can put people at risk in that area.''
Mooloolaba Beach is patrolled by lifeguards and volunteer surf lifesavers all year round.

Sunshine Coast Council Environment and Liveability Councillor Tim Burns said Mooloolaba remained open for business and beach activities during its period of transformation.
"We're proud to be working with our lifeguards and Mooloolaba Surf Club to keep the beach open and patrolled so the community can continue to enjoy everything they love about Mooloolaba," Cr Burns said.
"It's easy to find the new patrolled flagged area, just look out for the Mooloolaba Whale signage guiding beachgoers to the patrolled areas south of the Surf Club.
"Temporary amenities, including showers and toilets, are available at Arthur Parkyn Park and Beach Terrace to ensure comfort and convenience."
With some of Queensland's most spectacular winter conditions, it's the perfect time to visit Mooloolaba's cafés, restaurants, boutiques, hotels and tour operators.
