A former Catholic Priest has been charged with historical aggravated indecent assault matters against a child that are alleged to have occurred at a Lake Macquarie school in 1994, NSW Police say.
Lake Macquarie Police District detectives attached to Strike Force Georgiana have conducted an ongoing investigation into allegations of assaults at a Booragul school.
Arising from that investigation, yesterday (Tuesday 6 March 2018), a 56-year-old man was arrested at Wagga Wagga Police Station by strike force detectives and charged with nine counts of aggravated indecent assault – under authority.
The man remains in custody and will appear at Newcastle Local Court on Thursday 29 March 2018.
