Former doctor charged with sexual assaults between 2010 and 2014 - Edgecliff

A former doctor has been charged with multiple counts of alleged sexual assault against a patient at Edgecliff.

In November of 2018, a woman – aged 64 at the time – attended Kings Cross Police Station and reported being sexually assaulted by a gynaecologist/obstetrician while receiving treatment a number of times between 2010 and 2014.

Following extensive inquiries by officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command, a 77-year-old man attended Waverley Police Station today (Monday 2 September 2019), where he was arrested.

He was charged with eight counts of aggravated sexual assault – victim under authority of offender, and refused bail to appear at Waverley Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 3 September 2019).

Police remind members of the public they can report incidents of sexual assault regardless of when they occurred.
