A former police officer has been charged after an investigation into offences relating to child abuse material.
In February 2020, Strike Force Deism was commenced by the Professional Standards Command into alleged child abuse material being shared by a serving senior constable attached to a specialist command.
Following inquiries, a 46-year-old man was arrested at Burwood Police Station about 10am today (Friday 4 February 2022) and charged with use carriage service transmit/distribute etc child porn.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 30 March 2022.
The man has since resigned.
