Two former Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) members have been charged, and prohibited firearms and drugs seized as Strike Force Raptor continue to investigate the activities of an alleged criminal network, NSW Police say.
In July, detectives from the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor established Strike Force Pavasovic to investigate the activities of criminal networks across Sydney.
As part of their inquiries, detectives were alerted to an alleged road-rage incident reported to involve a former Rebels OMCG member.
Following extensive investigations, Strike Force Raptor executed a search warrant at a home at Sackville, just before 9am on Saturday (1 September 2018).
A 27-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Windsor Police Station.
He was charged with destroy or damage property, intentionally throw object at vehicle/vessel risk safety, affray, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.
Police will allege in court the man was travelling as a passenger in a vehicle on the M1 Pacific Motorway at Mooney Mooney, about 5am on Saturday 4 August 2018, and became involved in an altercation with the driver of another vehicle, throwing glass bottles and intimidating the other driver.
The man, who is a former Rebels OMCG member, was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Bail Court yesterday (Sunday 2 September 2018).
A short time later, Strike Force Raptor executed a further two search warrants at properties at Sackville and Ebenezer, and conducted a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) search at another Sackville home.
During the searches, police seized an SKS rifle, an SKK rifle, a pump-action shotgun, a converted flare pistol capable of firing 12-gauge shotgun rounds, 265 rounds of ammunition of various calibres, 2kg of white powder, suspected to be cocaine; prescription medication, drug paraphernalia, almost $6000 cash, a CCTV hard drive, and stolen Roads and Maritime Services signs.
Investigators also located a stolen Mercedes Benz CLA45 AMG with false registration plates attached. The vehicle had been modified with seatbelts and airbags removed.
The items will undergo forensic examination, and the firearms will also be subjected to ballistic tests.
Two further men – aged 27 and 28 – were issued with consorting warnings after attending one of the Sackville properties.
The younger man was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station, while the other man, who is a member of the Rebels OMCG, was released pending further inquiries.
The 27-year-old Shalvey man, who is a former Rebels OMCG member, was charged with contravene non-association, place restriction order.
He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Bail Court yesterday.
Inquiries into the acquisition and possession of the firearms and other items are ongoing, and further arrests and charges are expected.
