Eight organisations will deliver projects to strengthen social cohesion and address racism across Tasmanian communities, under the latest round of the Social Cohesion Grants Program.
Minister for Community and Multicultural Affairs, Roger Jaensch, said we are delivering practical, community-led initiatives that build stronger connections between Tasmanians.
"Strong communities are built on respect, understanding and connection," Minister Jaensch said.
"Our Government is investing in local governments and community organisations to deliver practical, place-based projects that strengthen social cohesion and address racism across Tasmania.
"Through our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, we are building a more harmonious, inclusive and respectful Tasmania where everyone belongs."
The program supported projects with grants of up to $45,000, from a total funding pool of $265,000.
The successful grant recipients include All Together Now for Agent C, Conservation Volunteers Australia for Plant. Share. Belong, Welcome Cultural Services for Cultural Humility Training and the Tasmania Northwest Islamic Association for North-West Open Table.
