The home of the Tasmanian Devils has reached an exciting new stage, with the Tasmania Football Club releasing the select tender.
Acting Minister for Sport, Gavin Pearce, said the highly anticipated training facility would be cutting-edge.
"The High Performance Training and Administration Centre will be a first-class facility that supports the club's continued success while benefiting the wider community," Minister Pearce said.
"This investment demonstrates our commitment to fostering high-performance sport and delivering opportunities for athletes to excel right here in Tasmania.
"We have worked closely with the Devils to ensure the design will deliver the specific needs of the football program, from high-performance training and recovery spaces to areas that foster team culture and community connection."
The AFL High Performance Centre is being delivered by the Tasmania Football Club , and will include a full gymnasium with weights, cardio and open training spaces, an indoor training field with viewing and camera platforms, and specialist training rooms.
Medical and rehabilitation areas will feature recovery pools, infrared saunas, treatment and physiotherapy rooms.
The development also includes dedicated facilities for the football department, including team rooms, match committee and analyst spaces, and an 80-seat lecture theatre.
Administrative areas will accommodate around 80 staff. Other amenities include a commercial kitchen, staff dining area, and multipurpose spaces, while public areas will feature a reception foyer, café, and club merchandise store.
The site is located opposite the nation-leading JackJumpers' and Jewels High Performance Training Centre and will further cement the Kingborough area as a premier sporting and community hub.
"We are delivering for Tasmania by investing in projects that support jobs, our economy, and increase the health of Tasmanians," Minister Pearce said.
"Our AFL and AFLW teams are creating a new industry in Tasmania, supporting our economy and attracting highly skilled people that will benefit the whole community.
"I cannot wait to see this facility come to life."
