Four arrested after pursuit in Clyde

Four teenagers have been arrested after a police pursuit involving a stolen car in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.

Just after 1.30pm today, a Traffic and Highway Patrol officer attempted to stop a stolen car in the Harris Park area, but the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit commenced.

The stolen car was followed to Clyde where it stopped near the railway station. Four youths exited the car and fled on foot.

The Traffic and Highway Patrol officer with assistance from local officers gave chase on foot with three teenagers arrested nearby. They were taken to Parramatta Police Station.

A fourth teenager later attended the police station and was also arrested.

The driver, a 14-year-old boy, and the three passengers aged 15 and 16 were spoken to by police.

All four have been released pending further inquiries, but it is expected the driver will be charged and the passengers will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.
