Four Charged in Interstate Drug Bust: Strike Force

Four people have been charged for their alleged roles in the interstate supply of methamphetamine following an investigation by Eastern Suburbs detectives.

In March 2025, detectives attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command established Strike Force Cleveland to investigate the interstate supply of methamphetamine and GBL in Sydney.

Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives – with assistance from Operation ODIN officers – arrested a 44-year-old man on New Canterbury Road, Petersham, about 10am yesterday (Tuesday 20 May 2025).

During the arrest strike force detectives located and seized $30,000 cash in the man's backpack and a further $1,900 cash on the man's person.

He was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with 15 counts of supply prohibited drug, four counts of possess prohibited drug, participate in criminal group contribute criminal activity, organise/conducts/assists drug premises, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.

About 2pm the same day, strike force detectives arrested a 47-year-old woman at a unit on Old South Head Road, Rose Bay.

Following the arrest, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at the unit during which they located and seized small amounts of methamphetamine, GBL and cannabis.

The woman was taken to Waverly Police Station where she was charged with found on/entering/leaving drug premises.

Following further investigations, strike force detectives arrested a second man – aged 60 – at a home on New Canterbury Road, Petersham, about 2.10pm yesterday.

During a search of the home, officers located and seized electronic devices and small amount of methamphetamine.

The 60-year-old was taken to Burwood Police Station where he was charged with four counts of supply prohibited drug, four counts of knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and possess prohibited drug.

Shortly after, strike force detectives executed an additional search warrant at a home on Bondi Road, Bondi, about 3pm.

During the search a 51-year-old man returned to the property and was subsequently arrested and taken to Waverley Police Station.

He was charged with 25 counts of supply prohibited drug, organises/conducts/assists drug premises, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

All three men were refused bail to appear before court today (Wednesday 21 May 2025), with the 44-year-old appearing before Downing Centre Local Court, the 60-year-old appearing before Burwood Local Court, and the 51-year-old appearing before Waverley Local Court.

The woman was granted conditional bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 6 June 2025.

It will be alleged in court all three men played various roles in a criminal syndicate supplying drugs interstate from Sydney.

Investigations under Strike Force Cleveland continue.
