Four Charged in Shooting, Break-In by Strike Force Helmond

Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have charged four men over an alleged shooting and aggravated break and enter earlier this year, under Strike Force Helmond.

About 2.50pm on Friday 21 March 2025, officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command were called to a unit on Marion Street, Condell Park.

Upon arrival, police located three men – aged 26, 30 and 34 - with a number of injuries.

The 26-year-old had also suffered a gunshot wound to his leg.

Police were told the men were assaulted and detained inside the unit by an armed group, who left the scene in a white van.

The three men were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The matter was referred to State Crime Command's Robbery & Serious Crime Squad who established Strike Force Helmond to investigate.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives - with assistance from officers attached to the Public Order and Riot Squad and Raptor Squad Operational Support Group - executed five search warrants in Greenacre, Auburn, Guildford, Yagoona and Young yesterday morning (Wednesday 27 August 2025).

During the search warrants, police located a total of approximately $127,000 cash, ammunition, 6kg cannabis, 119g cocaine, 73 vials of testosterone and anabolic steroids and electronic devices, including mobile phones.

Four men were arrested: a 41-year-old man at Auburn, a 41-year-old man at Greenacre, a 42-year-old man at Yagoona and a 42-year-old man at Young.

The first three men were taken to Bankstown Police Station, while the fourth man was taken to Young Police Station.

The 41-year-old man arrested at Auburn was charged with special aggravated commit serious indictable offence and break out - wound, discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.

The 41-year-old man arrested at Greenacre was charged with special aggravated commit serious indictable offence and break out -wound, discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm, participate criminal group contribute criminal activity and two counts of possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance.

The 42-year-old man arrested at Yagoona was charged with possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, fail to comply digital evidence access order direction, deal with property proceeds of crime, supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity and two counts of possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance.

The three men were refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Thursday 28 August 2025).

The 42-year-old man arrested at Young was charged with special aggravated commit serious indictable offence and break out – wound, discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 5 today.

Police will allege in court the men arrested at Greenacre, Auburn and Young were involved in the aggravated break and enter in Condell Park.

As investigations under Strike Force Helmond continue, detectives have released CCTV of a white Toyota Hiace van with roof racks.
