Four Local Musicians Set To Drop New Tracks Next Month

After five months of intensive industry mentoring, Tonite, Madeliene Cope, Emilia Fol and FARAH will debut new tracks at the GRID (Grass Roots Indie Development) Series Geelong Release Party on Thursday 1 May.

These talented early career musicians will take to the stage at the Geelong Arts Centre's Open House to perform their music to a hometown crowd of music fans, industry professionals, VIPs and their GRID team of producers and mentors.

In support of these new releases, captivating documentaries about each artist and their diverse journeys will be premiered.

Directed by Paul Huynh, Nick Rae, Emily Seif and Sam Biddle, the films take a deep dive into their personal stories, challenges, motivations and dedication to their craft.

FARAH makes a striking debut with 'Gasoline', an emotionally charged track that blends her incense-like vocals with atmospheric textures to explore grief, transformation, and self-reclamation. Accompanied by a narrated short film, the release offers an intimate glimpse into the aftermath of personal collapse and the power of starting over.
Madeliene Cope unveils 'Everlast', a haunting reflection of love, grief, and the quiet strength it takes to move forward. Supported by a short film shot along the coastline she calls home, the project offers a reflective glimpse into the artist's world.
Tonite returns with 'Breathe', an experimental hip-hop odyssey that explores the polarity within the human experience. Accompanied by a short film that traces personal history, family ties, and inner transformation, the project offers an intimate look at the moments and memories that shaped the artist behind the mic.
Emilia Fol makes a fierce and cinematic debut with 'Viper', a track that fuses Spanish folk, soul, and psychedelic rock into a moody, Tarantino-esque anthem of feminine power. The release is complemented by a short film that dives into Emilia's life living with a hearing impairment—offering an intimate look at the artist's journey, her connection to culture, and the personal strength behind the music.

GRID Series empowers early career artists outside inner-city music hubs through one-on-one mentoring with an industry leader, collaboration with a producer to create a new track, recording sessions, live performance opportunities and the creation of a short film documentary.
