Four vehicle fatal crash at Orange

A man has died following a four-vehicle crash in Orange today.

Officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attempted to stop a Holden Commodore after it was reported stolen from Queen Street, Blaney, on Thursday 25 May 2023.

When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop officers initiated a pursuit which was terminated a short time later due to the manner of driving and weather conditions.

A short time later, emergency services were called to the Mitchell Highway, Orange, following reports of a four-vehicle crash.

On arrival officers found a Holden Commodore, Ford Ranger, small hatchback and bus had collided.

The driver of the commodore, a 23-year-old male, died at the scene.

The male driver and passenger of the Ford Ranger were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Orange Health Service for treatment of injuries.

The bus driver was not injured, and there was no passengers on board.

Police have established a crime scene and Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the cause of the crash.
