Fourth Man Charged After Stabbing At Newcastle

A fourth man has been charged following an alleged stabbing in Newcastle earlier this month.

About 3.20am on Sunday 11 January 2026, emergency services were called to a carpark on Parry Street, Newcastle West.

At the scene, officers located an 18-year-old man who had sustained a stab wound to his neck and head.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers attached to Newcastle City Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.

Three men have since been charged in relation to the incident. All three remain before the courts.

About 8.35am today (Wednesday 28 January 2026), police arrested a 19-year-old man at Maitland Police Station.

He was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and affray.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 2 today (Wednesday 28 January 2026), where he was formally refused bail to appear before Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday 25 March 2026.
