Free cat desexing and health checks

Animal Aid, our animal pound is offering eligible Knox residents free animal services to care for their cat, and to prevent unwanted animals in our community.

Health Care or Pension Card holders in Knox are eligible for this program. A total of 100 female and 50 male cats will receive free essential animal services.

Bookings are limited, and will be filled on a first come first served basis. To make a booking for your cat, call Animal Aid on 8756 1300.

This program has the potential to prevent 316,000 unwanted cats and kittens in the community over a 4 year period. Helping people access desexing services for their cat will help prevent animal homelessness.

"We know that cost can be a huge barrier for our community when making the decision to desex their pets - this program will allow our community to access desexing and health services without the financial implications" says Mark Menze, Animal Aid CEO.

We have worked closely with Animal Aid over the years to address animal welfare matters in our community, including re-uniting lost pets with owners and animal homelessness.

Further information about this program is available on the Animal Aid website.
