Free Child Restraint Checks by Council

Georges River Council

In light of National Road Safety Week, Georges River Council is offering free child restraint installation and checking for local residents on Tuesday 13 May 2025.

Georges River Council is collaborating with Transport for NSW, Kidsafe NSW and Transurban to deliver this service for residents in our local government area.

There will be authorised fitters set to install and check child restraints, harnesses, and booster seats.

This event is free but there may be a small cost if special parts are required to fit the seat. Parts will also be available to purchase on the day with payments going directly to the RMS Authorised Restraint Fitter.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, "At Georges River Council we are dedicated to ensuring the safety of our youngest community members.

"We are thankful to Kidsafe NSW, Transurban and Transport for NSW for partnering with us to provide this initiative to protect our children and promote road safety in our community. I encourage all local parents to get on board and book their spot for a free child restraint installation."

Please note that there will be a maximum of three seats to be fitted or checked per booking. To be eligible, proof of address is needed at the venue prior to any works being undertaken.
