Celebrate the magic of the holiday season by attending one of the City's free, family-friendly Christmas events this December.
Surfers Paradise will sparkle with the debut of 'Christmas Flicks & Fireworks', where locals can enjoy festive movies, markets and fireworks by the iconic beachfront.
"From the north to the south, there's 4 free festive events to choose from," said Mayor Tom Tate.
"Watch Santa skydive into Coolangatta or help stop the Grinch from ruining Christmas in Coomera, there's something for everyone."
Christmas Flicks & Fireworks
When: Friday 12 (The Santa Clause) and Saturday 13 (ELF) December, from 4pm
Where: Surfers Paradise Beach, Surfers Paradise Sign, The Esplanade, Surfers Paradise
Enjoy two festive evenings of Christmas markets, movies and fireworks by the beach in Surfers Paradise.
From 4pm discover the Surfers Paradise Christmas Twilight Markets brimming with handmade gifts, festive eats and local treasures.
Bring your picnic blanket, settle on the sand and enjoy a free cinematic experience under the stars from 7pm.
Each night there'll be sparkling fireworks at 8:30pm, the perfect festive finale!

Cooly Carols
When: Sunday 14 December, 5:30pm to 7:30pm
Where: Queen Elizabeth Park, Marine Parade, Coolangatta
Hosted by the Gold Coast's very own Nicka35, this free, family-friendly event is the perfect way to celebrate the festive season.
Bring your picnic blanket, friends and family, and settle in for an evening filled with your favourite Christmas carols, a delicious variety of food trucks, and a special visit from the big man in red.
The night will finish with a dazzling fireworks finale lighting up the Coolangatta sky.
Auslan interpreters will be on stage to ensure an accessible and welcoming experience for all.

Christmas in Broadbeach
When: Monday 15 to Sunday 21 December, 10am to 8pm daily
Where: Broadbeach Mall, Victoria Avenue, Broadbeach
Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year as Broadbeach Mall transforms into a magical Gingerbread Village, filled with festive cheer and free family fun.
Nestled next to The Oasis Shopping Centre, the interactive village will be bursting with adventures that will delight little elves and grown-ups alike.
Daily festive workshops include gingerbread cookie decorating, Christmas craft and storytime theatre. Pre-registrations are essential. Book now.
The Oasis Treasure Hunt returns for another year. Pick up your treasure map from Gingerbread Village staff and follow the clues to uncover festive surprises around The Oasis.
Bring your Christmas wish list and send it straight to the North Pole by visiting Santa's Post Office. Santa and his merry elves will be ready to meet you in the Gingerbread Village from 5pm.
On Friday 19 December watch Arthur Christmas under the Stars at Kurrawa Park from 7pm. Pack your picnic rug and enjoy this free family movie night by the beach.
Caregivers can recharge in the covered area next to Oasis Coffee while their little elves explore the village. Make a day or evening of it with a stroll, some retail therapy, and a bite to eat.

Christmas in Coomera
When: Saturday 20 to Sunday 21 December, 2pm to 8pm daily

Enjoy a weekend of free family fun, with:
- DJ Dance Party: Expect a flurry of excitement with a DJ on the decks, snow machines, pop-up performances from the Hip Hop Santas and games with prizes up for grabs.
- North Pole Putt Putt: Get ready to tee off this Christmas with a 9-hole putt putt course. Perfect for parents and Santa's little putters.
- Santa: What's Christmas without an appearance from Santa? The jolly man in red will be taking to the stage throughout the event.
- Roving entertainment: Keep an eye out for stilt walking candy canes and Hip Hop Santas. They'll be spreading the Christmas cheer as they roam through the event precinct.
- Meet & greets: Don't miss your chance to say hello and snap a pic with the Grinch and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
- Face painting: Santa's little helpers are ready with their brushes and glitter! What Christmas inspired design will your little one choose?
- Photo moments: Snap a photo in Santa's sleigh or take to his throne. Bring some extra festive flair by wearing your matching Christmas outfits.
There will also be food trucks to satisfy your tastebuds and market stalls for those last-minute gifts/stocking fillers.
