The much-loved annual Drive-In Movie event is returning to the Western Downs in August with free screenings of the family film 'IF' coming to the towns of Dulacca, Jandowae Tara and Kogan.

Starring Ryan Reynolds each screening of 'IF' promises to be unforgettable night for families and film-lovers of all ages, evoking a wave of nostalgia that comes with the flicker of the screen beneath an open sky.

Council Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development, Councillor Peter Saxelby said entry is free and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and their favourite snacks to make the most of the outdoor cinema experience.

"The drive-in movie series is a highlight on the community calendar and brings residents together in a relaxed, family-friendly setting," Cr Saxelby said.

"There's something special about watching a movie under the stars, and Council is proud to deliver these free events across the region.

"Whether you're reliving the magic of a drive-in or sharing the experience with your kids for the first time, these screenings are a great way to connect with your community and enjoy a night out that everyone can appreciate.

"'IF' tells the story of a girl who discovers she can see everyone's imaginary friends and sets out on a magical adventure to reconnect them with the kids who once needed them.

"It's a heartwarming tale full of laughs, emotion, and imagination and it's perfect for audiences young and old.

"The Drive-In Movies are part of Council's ongoing commitment to delivering vibrant community events that celebrate local life and bring people together."
