Residents can bring one load of green waste (up to 300kg) and dispose of it for free at the Benalla Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre, on the weekend of 28-29 May 2022.
To access this free green waste disposal service, we ask that you make a trip with just organic (green) waste. If you arrive with a mix of green waste and other waste, it can be challenging and time consuming to separate the load to decide which materials are free.
We only accept timber that is raw and in its natural form. This means any machined timber cannot be accepted as green waste for free disposal. Stumps need to be less than 400mm in diameter and 1000mm (1m) in length.
Please note, the weekend is just for domestic customers. Only sedans, utes or trailers (up to dual wheel tandem) will be accepted. Trucks and tippers are considered commercial quantities, so are not eligible to dispose of green waste for free.
