Free masks for small businesses in Tweed

Tweed Shire Council

Small businesses in the Tweed can pick up free face masks from distribution points in Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah tomorrow, Thursday 1 April.

Council will be distributing masks at the request of NSW Health to ensure businesses can continue to operate over Easter.

Limits will apply and the distribution points will open at 10am at the following locations:

  • Murwillumbah Administration Office, 10-14 Tumbulgum Road, Murwillumbah
  • Tweed Heads Administration Office, corner Brett Street and Wharf Street, Tweed Heads

When attending the distribution points, please maintain physical distancing and if you are unwell, please do not attend for the safety of our staff and wider community.

This follows a NSW Government Public Health Alert earlier today which announced that mask wearing would become compulsory on public transport, in retail stores and in all public indoor settings from 5pm today in the Tweed Shire local government area (Wednesday 31 March).

These restrictions will remain in place until 11.59pm on Monday 5 April, when the community will be updated.
