Gunnedah and Liverpool Plains Shire councils are hosting a series of free Mental Health First Aid workshops for people in the communities.
Increasing mental health resilience was identified as a priority during the community consultation stage of the Regional Drought Resilience Plan, and these sessions are an initiative of the plan.
The three-hour workshops will be presented by mental health educator Peter Annis-Brown and will focus on participants' own mental fitness and support for others who might be struggling. Participants will be certified as a Mental Fitness Star or Mental Fitness Champion on completion of the workshop.
Each workshop will be limited to 20 people so bookings are essential.
