Council has made entry free-of-charge at its public swimming pools in Adaminaby and Berridale from today, Friday 19 December 2025, until Bombala and Cooma pools have reopened.
This decision comes on the back of a vote at Council's December Ordinary Council Meeting in Cooma on Thursday 18 December 2025.
Major upgrade works at Bombala and Cooma pools have been delayed until early 2026. Free admission at these two other public pools will help make up for the impact of these extended closures on our community.
Council will issue a pro rata refund to Adaminaby and Berridale season pass holders at the end of the 2025/2026 swimming season for the total number of free admission days.
Thank you to everybody across the region affected by these continued pool closures for your patience and understanding.
We know that this free admission initiative isn't the same as having your local pool open again, but we hope it goes some of the way to making up for the delay.
Once complete, the major upgrade projects at Bombala and Cooma pools will ensure these facilities meet community needs for the foreseeable future.
Council looks forward to welcoming swimmers back to the water at these upgraded facilities in 2026.
