Access your free waste vouchers from the Bega Valley Waste App
26 November 2025
Bega Valley Shire Council is reminding residents that free waste vouchers are now sent out once a year instead of twice.
This means there will be no waste vouchers issued in December as in previous years.
"All four free waste vouchers were sent to ratepayers in July through the free Bega Valley Waste App, Council's website, or as paper vouchers for those who requested them," Waste Strategy Coordinator, Tim Cook said.
"The next batch of vouchers will be issued on 1 August 2026.
"This means there is no change to the number or value of vouchers, just the timing of when they're delivered.
"The move to annual delivery saves on costs while giving households more flexibility and a full 12 months to plan their trips to local waste and recycling centres."
Each voucher allows free disposal of:
- General waste (up to 0.5 cubic metres)
- Garden waste (up to 1 cubic metre)
- One innerspring mattress.
Or pick-up of:
- One cubic metre of compost, available at Eden, Merimbula, Wallagoot and Bermagui waste and recycling centres (subject to availability).
Ratepayers are encouraged to use their current vouchers before they expire at the end of July 2026.
Tenants in rental properties can access the free service by asking their landlord for a screenshot of the vouchers.
